I will stamp all over 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to promote next month's heavyweight fight.
Former twice world heavyweight champion Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's venue on December 19th.
Fighter's Attitude
"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my intention."
Respectful Interaction
Despite those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul instead criticized former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Opponent
Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Jake Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.
He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
Still, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.
Size Disparity
As both boxers engaged in the usual face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how improbable this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the match is truly proceeding.
